Community Participation

Support to help people access the community, build social connections, develop new skills and take part in activities that matter to them.

Community Participation

EC Care provides Community Participation support to help people stay connected, access local services, enjoy social activities and build confidence in everyday community settings.

Our caring support workers assist participants and clients to take part in activities that support their personal goals, independence, wellbeing and quality of life. This may include shopping, appointments, banking, hobbies, recreational activities, transport, skill development and social connection.

Whether support is needed through NDIS, My Aged Care, Support at Home, Home Care, DVA, private care or another approved pathway, EC Care focuses on safe, respectful and person-centred support that helps each person participate more confidently in their community.

Community access and social participation support

Being part of the community can make a meaningful difference to independence, confidence, emotional wellbeing and everyday quality of life. EC Care supports people to access community-based activities safely and with the right level of assistance.

Community Participation can include practical outings such as shopping, banking, paying bills, attending appointments and accessing services. It can also include social, recreational and personal interest activities such as hobbies, volunteering, holidays, salon visits, spa services and local events.

Building confidence and everyday skills

For many people, Community Participation is also about learning and developing skills. EC Care can assist with new community routines, travel confidence, planned spending, administrative tasks, accessing plan management services and implementing individual skills development plans.

Support is tailored to each person’s goals and comfort level. Some people may need regular support to attend activities, while others may need help building confidence to access the community more independently over time.

Safe and respectful support in the community

The safety, dignity and preferences of each person are central to how EC Care delivers Community Participation support. Our team works with clients, families, carers and support networks to understand what activities are meaningful, what assistance is required and how support can be delivered safely.

Whether the goal is social connection, daily independence, skill development or simply getting out and enjoying more of life, EC Care provides practical support to help people participate in the community with confidence.
